I’m embarrassed to admit how long I took making this. I’m definitely not going to say because I don’t want to brag, and even if that’s not my intent, that’s how it’ll surely come across.

In a lot of ways, this is just another traditional AMV, but it’s probably gonna be too weird for a lot of people, and I’m sure some viewers will hate it. Despite knowing that it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, I’m really hoping that some people actually watch it, and I think I’m counting on that, which is a horrible position to put myself in. I threw it up on Reddit a few hours ago and it’s already getting downvoted. Whether that’s because it sucks, or because I haven’t done a good job of making friends in the AMV subreddit, I don’t know. I just uploaded it on amv.org and I won’t even go into what I expect to happen to it there.

I’ll be surprised if I get any feedback at all on this that doesn’t interpret my creative decisions as “noob” mistakes. But there’s no way I’m going to lay out a disclaimer in advance explaining my concept or anything else quite so lame. All I’ll say is that Key the Metal Idol is a great (if flawed) anime series, modern “EDM” sucks and anyone who cares about music knows it, Internet culture is killing us all but in the end that might actually be worth it if all of the world’s self-proclaimed “gamers” would be the first to go, and thank God for Rick Perry and George Zimmerman because USA! USA! USA!

If anyone has a time machine that can help me get back to the 1990s, I promise I’ll do everything I can to make it worth your while.
